March 15, 2016

Got a sick kid? While they aren’t napping or eating they gotta do something. I remember when I was sick just watching television, and vegging out. If you’d rather they learn, or be more productive here are some great things to do.

  1. Build Legos.
  2. Bake some cookies.
  3. Take a bubble bath.
  4. Read a book.
  5. Color in a coloring book, or on a piece of paper.
  6. Draw or paint a picture.
  7. Have an indoor picnic.
  8. Play a board game.
  9. Work on their musical instrument skills.
  10. Learn a new language together with mommy.
  11. Build a big huge fort. (My personal fave)
  12. Tell ghost stories by the fireplace.
  13. Phone a loved one.
  14. Do flash cards.
  15. Play Dress up.
  16. Play charades or Pictionary.
  17. Fold laundry.
  18. Play with animals/pets.
  19. Have a tea party, invite all the stuffed animals.
  20. Work on an activity book.
  21. Put on a puppet or marionette show.
  22. Sing songs.
  23. Pretend.
  24. Play catch.
  25. Learn to Juggle.
  26. Race cars, trains, or other things around the house.
  27. Go on a magic carpet ride (Have mom or dad pull the carpet around the house).
  28. Build puzzles.
  29. Use Play dough.
  30. Watch classic movies like Goonies and cuddle.

Whatever you choose to do will usually need to be altered depending on how sick the child is and what their mood or energy levels. Try to keep things easy and change activities frequently so they don’t get bored!
